What is the Sports Premium?

The government is continuing to provide funding for primary school sport for 2022-2023. This funding is being jointly provided by the Departments for Education, Health and Culture, Media and Sport, and will see money going directly to primary school head teachers to spend on improving the quality of sport and PE for all their children.

In 2019 – 2020 the allocation of sports premium money doubled, which means our sports premium budget since 2019-2020 is approximately £18,140.

Carried forward unspent PE and sport premium grant funding from the 2021 to 2022 academic year

As a result of the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, the Department for Education took steps to relax the ring-fencing arrangements for the PE and sport premium in the 2019 to 2020 academic year to allow any unspent grant to be carried forward into the 2020 to 2021, 2021 – 2022 and 2022 – 2023 academic year.

Our budget for 2020-2021 academic year was £18,430.

Our budget for 2022-2023 academic year is £18,430 plus an unspent balance from 2021-2022 academic year of £5,894 totalling £24,324
