Eco-Committee
What we do?
The Eco-Committee have regular lunchtime meetings to discuss different ways we can improve our school and local environment. We also look for local and national initiatives we can become involved in to raise awareness of being environmentally friendly. We have assemblies and monthly newsletters to share information with pupils, parents and local political parties. As a team we have recruited ‘Eco Influencers’ which will help with larger eco projects and ‘spread the word’ to the wider community.
Eco Code
During the process of the Green Flag application, we completed an audit of areas we felt were important and that we could improve even further in our school. These areas became our Eco Code;
- Recycle
- Save water
- Raise awareness
- Support biodiversity
- Conserve energy
As a committee we discussed the design of Eco Code, Evie and Verity then designed a poster which is displayed in classrooms and communal areas around school.
